Blue Sky Farms a 25 acre family farm located in North Texas near Greenville owned by Eric and Lisa Eckes. For 10 years we have been raising some of the finest grass fed Painted Desert Hair Sheep in North Texas ie. no shearing. We have around 100 lambs born each year so we usually have some for sale. Our Breeding rams are registered with the United Haired Horned Sheep Association. We would be happy to share our knowledge and experience with you about raising sheep or help find the right animals through are connections with our breed club or others we have met in the business. Need a good LGD dog? We are connected with with the Great Pyrenees Rescue Group that finds homes for needy Dogs. Breeding Rams
The easiest way to improve your flock is to buy the best ram you can find since you have to rotate them anyway, it is easier to do that and replace all your ewes. So the hunt go on the find your next great ram. We have been fortunate to have had some excellment breeding rams in the past. Below are a few pictures of our prior rams. Breeding Stock Ewes
We usually keep around 40 to 50 Ewes in the flock, some have horns many have twins and even a few triplets. All sheep are feed grain and 16% protein Allstock daily to keep them strong especially in the winter or while they are nursing, Grown ewes start at $150
